MK Stalin Urges DMK MLAs to Remain United, Emphasizes Strong Opposition Role

M. K. Stalin, president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), has stated that he wishes for the party to function as a strong and effective opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. He also urged party MLAs to remain disciplined and abide by whatever decisions are taken by the party leadership.

A meeting of DMK legislators was held today, May 7, at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai under the leadership of MK Stalin.

During the meeting, four major resolutions were reportedly passed. Among them was the view that Tamil Nadu is not prepared for another election at this stage. The party also resolved to grant MK Stalin the authority to take immediate and important decisions after assessing the prevailing political and administrative situation in the state.

Addressing the MLAs during the meeting, Stalin stated that certain crucial decisions would need to be taken after consultations with senior party leaders in the interest of the party’s future.

He further requested all DMK legislators to remain united and disciplined regardless of the decisions ultimately made by the leadership.

In addition, Stalin instructed all DMK MLAs to remain in Chennai until May 10, signaling the possibility of significant political developments in the coming days amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding government formation in Tamil Nadu.

The meeting has intensified political speculation regarding DMK’s next move as the state continues to witness rapid post-election political developments.
