In a high-scoring encounter in Match 47 of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, Mumbai Indians pulled off a fabulous 6-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants on Monday.
Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants posted a formidable total of 228/5 in 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran led the charge with a blistering 63 off just 21 balls, smashing 8 sixes, while Mitchell Marsh contributed 44 runs. Aiden Markram (31*) and Himmat Singh (40*) provided a strong finish.
In response, Mumbai Indians delivered a stunning chase, reaching 229/4 in just 18.4 overs. The foundation was laid by an explosive opening partnership between Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, who added 143 runs for the first wicket. Rickelton scored a quickfire 83 off 32 balls, while Rohit smashed 84 off 44 balls, including 7 sixes.
After their dismissal, Mumbai briefly lost momentum, but Naman Dhir (23*) and Will Jacks (10*) ensured there were no further hiccups, guiding the team to a memorable win.
For Lucknow, Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan picked up a wicket each, but their efforts were not enough to stop Mumbai’s dominant batting display.
With this win, Mumbai Indians snapped their three-match losing streak, while Lucknow Super Giants suffered their sixth consecutive defeat, further denting their campaign in IPL 2026.
