India secures 4 gold and 2 silver medals at the Asian Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, finishing at the top with a total of 10 medals.
India delivered an outstanding performance at the Asian Boxing Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, securing 4 gold and 2 silver medals and finishing at the top of the medal tally with a total of 10 medals, including 4 bronze.
The Indian team, led by head coach Santiago Nieva, showcased exceptional skill and dominance, particularly in the women’s category during the final bouts held on Thursday.
In the 48 kg category, Meenakshi won gold with a convincing 5-0 victory over Nomundari Amgalan. In the 54 kg division, Preeti secured gold by defeating Chinese Taipei’s Huang Wen, a three-time world champion and Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist, with a 5-0 scoreline.
Priya claimed gold in the 60 kg category with a 3-0 win against North Korea’s Won Yun Wang, while Arundhati triumphed in the 70 kg category, defeating Kazakhstan’s Bagit Sedi with a 4-1 score.
India also added two silver medals to its tally, with Jasmin finishing second in the 57 kg category and Alfiya Pathan securing silver in the 80+ kg division.
The overall performance placed India firmly at the top of the standings, underlining the country’s growing strength in international boxing. Ajay Singh, president of the Boxing Federation of India, was present during the final rounds, witnessing the team’s impressive achievements.
