The new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cabinet in Bihar, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, is reportedly set to take oath on May 7.

In the 2025 Bihar Assembly Election, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, secured a massive victory and retained power in the state.

Following this, Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Chief Minister after being elected as a Rajya Sabha member in April 2026. Subsequently, Samrat Choudhary was sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for the first time on April 14.

According to reports, a Bihar cabinet meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening around 5 PM. Major announcements regarding the formation and expansion of the new cabinet are expected to be made during a press conference scheduled for 6 PM.

It has also been announced that Rajnath Singh will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP-led Bihar cabinet on May 7.

The cabinet expansion is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the political and administrative direction of the BJP government in Bihar in the coming months.
