Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations have announced special bus services from Chennai and other cities between April 30 and May 3 to manage increased passenger demand during the May Day long weekend.

To manage the surge in passenger movement during the upcoming long weekend, special bus services have been announced by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations ahead of May Day and the extended holidays.

According to a statement issued by the Managing Director of the State Express Transport Corporation, increased travel demand is expected from April 30 (Thursday) to May 3 (Sunday), as people head to their hometowns across the state.

To accommodate this demand, additional special buses will be operated along with regular services.

From Chennai’s Kilambakkam bus terminus, a total of 475 special buses will operate on April 30 to key destinations including Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur. On May 1 and May 2, 315 buses will be operated on these routes.

From Koyambedu, buses will run to destinations such as Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru, with 85 buses on April 30 and 75 buses each on May 1 and May 2.

Additionally, from Madhavaram, 14 buses per day will be operated between April 30 and May 2. Around 200 special buses will also run from cities like Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations.

For the return journey, 615 special buses will be operated on May 3 (Sunday) from various parts of Tamil Nadu to Chennai and Bengaluru, ensuring a smooth return for passengers after the holidays.

Passengers are advised to plan their travel in advance and make use of these additional services to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
