Keshav Maharaj Replaces Injured Mitchell Santner in Mumbai Indians Squad – IPL 2026

In the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 season, Mumbai Indians have announced Keshav Maharaj as the replacement for Mitchell Santner, who has been ruled out due to injury.

Santner sustained a left shoulder injury during the match against Chennai Super Kings on April 23, forcing him to withdraw from the remainder of the IPL 2026 season.

Following his exit, Mumbai Indians confirmed the signing of Keshav Maharaj, an experienced left-arm spinner from South Africa, to strengthen their squad.

Maharaj is regarded as one of South Africa’s most reliable spin bowlers across all formats. Despite not having played a T20 international at the time, he was selected for South Africa’s squad in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, highlighting his skill and potential. He has also led the national side and brings valuable leadership experience to the team.

In his last 30 T20 matches, Maharaj has taken 31 wickets, including an impressive spell where he conceded just 15 runs while picking up 3 wickets in a single game.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have wished Mitchell Santner a speedy recovery and expressed hope that he will return to action soon.
