India have reached the final of the women’s cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semifinal.
Batting first, India posted 195/4 in 20 overs. Shafali Verma produced a spectacular unbeaten century, scoring 100 runs from just 49 balls, including three fours and nine sixes. Smriti Mandhana contributed 37 runs from 19 balls, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 40 from 33 balls.
Chasing 196 for victory, Bangladesh were bowled out for 81 in 15.4 overs. Deepti Sharma and Nandani Sharma took three wickets each as India's bowlers restricted Bangladesh to a low total.
The 114-run victory secured India a medal and booked their place in the gold-medal match against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka reached the final after defeating Pakistan in the other semifinal.
