Rajasthan Royals head into IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 with confidence and momentum after registering a commanding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator. With a place in the final at stake, Rajasthan Royals will now face Gujarat Titans in a crucial playoff encounter.
The highly anticipated match will be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. Meanwhile, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru have already secured their spot in the IPL 2026 final after winning Qualifier 1.
Gujarat Titans will be aiming for a strong comeback following a disappointing performance in their previous playoff match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Chasing a massive target of 255 runs, GT struggled against RCB's bowling attack and were bowled out for 162 runs. Despite the defeat, Rahul Tewatia provided some resistance with a fighting knock of 68 runs.
Rajasthan Royals, however, enter the contest on the back of a dominant all-round performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the spotlight with a breathtaking 97 runs from just 29 balls, smashing 12 sixes and five fours in a match-winning innings.
The Royals' bowling unit also delivered under pressure, with Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger playing crucial roles in restricting Hyderabad and sealing a convincing 47-run victory.
As both teams prepare for the do-or-die encounter, Rajasthan Royals will look to continue their winning momentum, while Gujarat Titans will be desperate to bounce back and keep their championship hopes alive. The winner of Qualifier 2 will advance to the IPL 2026 final to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
