India posted a commanding 216/3 in 20 overs, with Smriti Mandhana leading the batting effort with a superb 79 runs. Richa Ghosh provided a strong finish, remaining unbeaten on 49 as India set Sri Lanka a challenging target of 217.
In reply, Sri Lanka struggled against India’s bowling attack and were bowled out for 69 in 15.4 overs. India’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings to secure a comprehensive 147-run victory.
The victory earned India the women’s T20 cricket gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games. Sri Lanka finished with the silver medal, while Pakistan claimed bronze after defeating Bangladesh in the third-place match.
