India A emerged victorious in the Tri-Nation ODI Series after defeating Sri Lanka A by 66 runs in the final played at Dambulla. The tournament featured India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A, with India A producing a dominant performance to lift the title.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India A posted a formidable total of 377/9 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was powered by a sensational knock from young batting star Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed 94 runs off just 29 deliveries in a breathtaking display of aggressive stroke play.
Captain Tilak Varma contributed a valuable 67 runs, while Ruturaj Gaikwad added 40. Priyansh Arya and Anukul Roy also played important supporting roles, scoring 39 runs each to help India A build a massive total.
For Sri Lanka A, Kugdhas Mathulan, Vanuja Sahan, and Ravindu Fernando claimed two wickets each. Mohammad Shiraz, Dulaj Samuditha, and Sahan picked up one wicket apiece.
Chasing a daunting target of 378, Sri Lanka A fought hard but were eventually bowled out for 311 runs in 47.1 overs. Despite several useful contributions from the batting lineup, they were unable to keep pace with the required run rate.
Vanuja Sahan top-scored for Sri Lanka A with 62 runs, while Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed 52. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth added 39 runs, and another useful contribution of 38 runs kept Sri Lanka in the contest for a period.
India A's bowling attack delivered a disciplined performance, with Yash Thakur and Vipraj Nigam claiming three wickets each. Anukul Roy took two wickets, while Ashok Sharma and captain Tilak Varma chipped in with one wicket each.
The victory secured the Tri-Nation ODI Series title for India A and capped off an impressive campaign throughout the tournament.
