Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL season due to a thigh muscle injury, delivering a setback to the team. The official announcement confirmed that the 28-year-old pacer sustained the injury in his hamstring area, which will require a recovery period of around 10 to 12 weeks.

Khaleel Ahmed had been a key powerplay bowler for Chennai Super Kings in the current season. He suffered the injury during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14 while running in to bowl the 19th over. Following the incident, he was forced to leave the field midway through the match.

Medical reports indicate that the injury is classified as a Level 2 muscle strain, ruling him out for the remainder of the tournament. His absence is expected to impact CSK’s bowling combination, especially during the crucial early overs.

Khaleel Ahmed, who has represented India in 11 One Day Internationals and 18 T20 Internationals, managed to pick up 2 wickets in the current IPL season. Notably, he bowled 50 dot balls, highlighting his effectiveness and control during matches.
