The risk of road accidents in Coimbatore is increasing due to irresponsible motorists who fail to properly follow traffic rules. A common sight on the city's roads is cars, buses and two-wheelers continuing to move even when the traffic signal is red instead of stopping.
Motorists also continue to engage in other risky practices, such as suddenly changing lanes without using indicators while turning, failing to maintain lane discipline and not giving way to other vehicles. Such traffic violations can lead to serious and unexpected road accidents.
Trying to save just a few seconds by ignoring traffic rules can put not only the driver's life at risk but also endanger the lives of other people travelling on the road. Following basic traffic rules is therefore essential for everyone's safety.
Every motorist has a responsibility to stop at red signals, use indicators while turning, maintain safe speeds and properly follow all traffic regulations. Greater awareness and responsible driving can help make Coimbatore's roads safer for everyone.
