DMK Announces Candidates for Puducherry Assembly Elections

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has officially announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Puducherry Assembly Elections. The announcement comes after finalizing seat-sharing arrangements within the INDIA Alliance.

As per the agreement, Indian National Congress will contest in 16 constituencies, while DMK will contest in 14 seats. Out of the DMK quota, one seat has been allocated to the Communist Party of India and another to the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi.

Meanwhile, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam and the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi have also announced plans to contest independently in certain constituencies.

The DMK candidates announced for key constituencies include:

  • Villianur – R. Siva
  • Mangalam – S. S. Rangan
  • Thirubuvanai – P. Angalan
  • Bahour – R. R. Senthil Kumar
  • Mudaliarpet – Sampath
  • Uppalam – Anibal Kennedy
  • Oulgaret – S. Gopal
  • Nellithope – V. Karthikeyan
  • Raj Bhavan – Vignesh Kannan
  • Kalapet – A. Senthil (Ramesh)
  • Kathirkamam – P. Vadivelu
  • Karaikal South – A. M. H. Nazim
  • Neravy T. R. Pattinam – M. Nagathiyagarajan

Additionally, the Uzhavarkarai constituency has been allotted to the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi as part of the alliance arrangement.

The announcement sets the stage for a competitive electoral battle in Puducherry, with major parties gearing up for campaigning.
