TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Coimbatore on July 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for maintenance and infrastructure works.

Residents in several parts of Coimbatore are advised to plan ahead as TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure improvement works.
Power supply will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in areas served by the Metro, Chinnathadagam 110/22 kV, and Negamam 110 kV substations.
Metro (RS Puram)
Affected Areas:
Arokiyasamy Road, Ramachandra Road, D.B. Road, Lawley Road, Thadagam Road, Gowlybrown Road, T.V. Samy Road, Sukkiravari Pet, Gandhi Park, Gopal Layout, Samiiyar New Street, Ediyar Street, and Raja Street.
Reason:
Maintenance work.
Chinnathadagam 110/22 kV Substation
Affected Areas:
Chinnathadagam, Anaikatti, Nanchundapuram, Pannimadai, selected areas of Periyathadagam, and Papanaickenpalayam.
Reason:
Planned maintenance of all 110 kV and 22 kV breakers, associated accessories, and other infrastructure maintenance works.
Negamam 110 kV Substation
Affected Areas:
Kattampatty, R.C. Puram, J. Krishnapuram, Negamam, and Vadachithur.
Reason:
Maintenance work.
Residents, commercial establishments, educational institutions, and businesses in the affected areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements in advance. Power supply is expected to be restored after the completion of the scheduled maintenance works, subject to operational requirements.
