England Overtake India to Become No. 1 in ICC T20I Team Rankings After 4-0 Series Win
England have climbed to the top of the ICC T20I Team Rankings after defeating India 4-0 in the five-match series, ending India's reign of more than 1,600 days at No. 1.

England have become the new No. 1 team in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after completing a dominant 4-0 series victory over India in the five-match T20I series. The achievement ends India's reign at the top of the rankings, where they had remained for more than 1,600 days.
The five-match T20I series concluded with England's victory in the final match at Southampton, allowing the hosts to seal the series 4-0. The comprehensive triumph over India was enough to propel England to the top of the ICC rankings, while India slipped to second place following consecutive T20I series defeats against Ireland and England.
India had first claimed the No. 1 position in the ICC T20I Team Rankings in February 2022 and maintained their dominance for over four years. England's impressive series win has now brought that remarkable run to an end, marking a significant shift in the international T20 landscape.
Ahead of the final T20I against India, England captain Harry Brook had stated that his team's primary objective was to become the world's No. 1 T20I side. With the convincing series victory, England successfully achieved that goal, underlining their strength and consistency in the shortest format of the game.
