SRV School Interact Club Launches ‘More Sports for Girls, More Girls for Sports’ Initiative

*INTERACT CLUB OF SRV SCHOOL INITIATES SPORTS DEVELOPMENT FOR WOMEN*

Interact Club of Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya MHSS (SRV School) embarked on the programme "MORE SPORTS FOR GIRLS, MORE GIRLS FOR SPORTS" on Thursday, September 03 2026 by 11.30 AM at school premises. The initiative is done during the backdrop of National Sports Day every year. The programme is supported by Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Changemakers and Rotary E-Club of Coimbatore Changemakers. The initiative is divided into two parts - namely MORE SPORTS FOR GIRLS and MORE GIRLS FOR SPORTS. 

Under the theme MORE SPORTS FOR GIRLS, awareness about different sports is created among the school children especially girls. To create more awareness about the different sports, a poster was launched visually explaining the 36 games that would feature in the 2028 Olympics. Rtr Naveen Prasath, President of Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Changemakers explained the different sports briefly. The poster was launched by Mr Karunanithi, Principal, Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya. The poster will be displayed in all notice boards of school and will be pasted in all classrooms. This will ensure that the school girls will learn about different types of sports. 

Under MORE GIRLS FOR SPORTS, Interact Club of Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya MHSS donated sports kit worth Rs 6000 so that more girls can start playing and practicing sports. Rtr Sathish Balakrishnan, Past DRR, RI District 3206 and Special Invitee handed over the sports kit in presence of Ms.Yogita, Vice Principal, Ms.Faneeta, Facutly Advisor, Rtr.Vishnu Shankar, Charter President and Rtn.Karthikeyan, Rotary Advisor. The Physical Education Teachers were also honoured by Interact, Rotaract and Rotary Club members. 

Speaking during the occasion, Rtr Sathish Balakrishnan, a passionate marathon runner and a former collegiate cricketer emphasised the importance of sports as an habit. He said every girl should play three sports - one for maintaining fitness, one as a habit and one for the joy of it. Ms.Yogita, Vice Principal and a former hockey player mentioned that sports would help build discipline needed for life. 

Intr.Sanvika, President, Interact Club of Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya welcomed the gathering. Intr.Sai Annamalai, Director explained about this annual school enhancement programme. Intr.Thanisha, Secretary, Interact Club of Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya proposed the Vote of Thanks. The meeting was attended by Interactors of Saraswathi Ramachandran Vidyalaya. All the Interactors vowed to take up sports and also initiate more people to get into sports as a hobby, routine or an career.
