Coimbatore Power Shutdown on July 16: TANGEDCO Announces Scheduled Outage in Several Areas
TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown in several parts of Coimbatore on July 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
Residents in several parts of Coimbatore are advised to make necessary arrangements as TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown on Thursday, July 16, 2026, to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure improvement works across the electricity distribution network.
Power supply will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in areas served by the S.N. Palayam 110/11 kV, SIDCO (Coimbatore Kurichy) 110 kV, and Kinathukadavu 110 kV substations.
The affected areas include S.N. Palayam, Pappanaickenputhur, Vadavalli, Vedapatti, Veerakeralam, Telungupalayam, Velandipalayam, Saibaba Colony, Selvapuram, Gandhinagar, Anna Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, SIDCO, parts of Sundarapuram, Podanur, LIC Colony, Kamaraj Nagar, Sulakkal, Thamaraikulam, parts of K.M. Andipalayam, Mandrampalayam, and Kondampatty.
According to TANGEDCO, the shutdown is required to carry out maintenance of 110 kV and 11 kV breakers, tree-cutting operations, feeder strengthening, pole replacement, and other planned infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution system.
Residents, commercial establishments, and industries located in the affected areas are advised to plan their activities in advance and make alternative arrangements wherever necessary. Electricity supply is expected to be restored after the successful completion of the scheduled maintenance work.
