Coimbatore Book Festival 2026: 10-Day Literary Celebration to Feature 200+ Exhibitors and Over 400 Stalls
The 10th Coimbatore Book Festival 2026 will be held from July 17 to 26 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex with 200+ exhibitors, 400+ stalls, literary events, music programs, and free entry.
The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) is set to host the 10th edition of the Coimbatore Book Festival from July 17 to July 26, 2026, at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore. Organized to promote reading habits among children, students, and book lovers while supporting the publishing industry, the festival is expected to be one of Tamil Nadu's largest literary events of the year.
The 10-day festival will feature more than 200 exhibitors and over 400 book stalls spread across Halls A, B, and C. Publishers and exhibitors from 12 states and union territories, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and New Delhi, will participate. Around 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition.
The fair will remain open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Entry is free for all visitors, who can register online through the official visitor portal or complete spot registration using QR codes at the venue. A free shuttle service from Avinashi Road has also been arranged for the convenience of visitors.
The festival will be inaugurated at 6:00 PM on July 17 in Hall A by Mrs. M. Rani Kanchana, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Coimbatore. During the inaugural ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Dr. K. Rathanam, while Young Writers Awards will be conferred on G. Ananthaprabhu (Poetry), G. Krishnamurthy (Fiction), and Dr. G. Manthirikumar (Special Commendation – Non-Fiction).
The festival schedule includes a wide range of educational and cultural events such as quiz competitions, book treasure hunts, author interactions, literary lectures, storytelling sessions, poetry workshops, book launches, elocution contests, and short story competitions for school and college students. Visitors can also enjoy special music performances, a humorous debate by Dr. G. Gnanasambandan, lectures by renowned speakers including Kavitha Jawahar, Dr. Logamadevi, Dr. J. Balavenkata Subramaniam, and writer S. Ramakrishnan, along with the "Meet a Scientist" programme featuring DRDO scientist Dr. Kadirvelu.
Adding to the attraction, the festival will host an archaeological exhibition and a Night Sky Observation programme using a modern telescope in collaboration with the Regional Science Centre. With its extensive collection of books, engaging literary activities, educational programmes, and cultural performances, the Coimbatore Book Festival 2026 promises to offer an enriching experience for readers, students, families, and literature enthusiasts from across the country.
