Iran Claims “Historic Victory” Over US After Ceasefire Agreement in Ongoing Conflict

Iran has claimed a “historic victory” in its ongoing conflict with the United States following a temporary ceasefire agreement.

The tensions escalated after failed negotiations between Iran and the US in Geneva regarding Iran’s nuclear policy. Earlier, joint military strikes by the United States and Israel targeted Iran’s capital Tehran, leading to the death of several top officials, including Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran launched attacks targeting US bases in Gulf countries and positions linked to Israel, intensifying the conflict, which has continued for several weeks.

Amid rising tensions, US President Donald Trump had warned of severe action if Iran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global oil route. The situation saw attacks on infrastructure, including bridges, energy facilities, and nuclear installations.

However, following discussions involving Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, a temporary pause in military action was agreed upon. Iran reportedly agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, leading to a two-week ceasefire.

Donald Trump stated that both sides are nearing a long-term peace agreement and confirmed that the US had received a 10-point proposal from Iran.

Following the ceasefire, Iran issued an official statement declaring that it had achieved a historic victory over the United States. The statement claimed that the US had been forced to consider Iran’s demands and emphasized that the conflict is not fully over.

Iran further stated that the war would only officially end if the United States accepts its 10-point demands, including the removal of certain sanctions and other conditions.

The situation remains tense, with global attention focused on whether the ceasefire will lead to a lasting peace in the Middle East.
