Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets in an IPL match played at Eden Gardens. Chasing a target of 156 runs, KKR reached 156 for 6 in 19.4 overs to register their first win of the season.

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals posted 155 for 9 in their 20 overs. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave a strong start with an 81-run partnership. Suryavanshi scored 46 off 28 balls, including six boundaries and two sixes, while Jaiswal added 39 runs. However, the middle and lower order struggled, with Shimron Hetmyer scoring 15 and captain Riyan Parag contributing 12, as the rest of the batters fell for single-digit scores.

For KKR, Varun Chakravarthy delivered an outstanding spell, taking 3 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs. Kartik Tyagi also picked up 3 wickets, while Sunil Narine claimed 2 wickets.

In reply, KKR had a poor start, losing Ajinkya Rahane and Tim Seifert for ducks. Cameron Green provided some momentum with 27 runs, while Rowman Powell scored 23. Despite losing 6 wickets for 85 runs, KKR staged a remarkable comeback.

Rinku Singh and Anukul Roy steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. Rinku Singh played a match-winning knock of 53 runs off 34 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes, while Anukul Roy remained unbeaten on 29 runs, guiding the team to victory.

For Rajasthan Royals, Ravindra Jadeja impressed with the ball, taking 2 wickets for just 8 runs in 3 overs. Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Dayal picked up one wicket each.

With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders registered their first victory in seven matches and moved up to ninth place in the points table, pushing Mumbai Indians to the bottom position.
