NTA Confirms No Fee for NEET Re-Exam After Cancellation of 2026 Test
The National Testing Agency has announced that no additional fee will be charged for the NEET re-examination after the 2026 entrance test was cancelled over question paper leak allegations.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced that no additional fee will be charged for the NEET re-examination following the cancellation of the medical entrance test held on May 3, 2026.
The decision comes after allegations surfaced that the NEET question paper had been leaked in Rajasthan before the examination was conducted.
During the investigation, Rajasthan’s Special Investigation Team reportedly recovered a handwritten model question paper containing nearly 140 questions that closely matched those asked in the actual NEET examination conducted on May 3.
Following the controversy, the National Testing Agency officially announced the cancellation of the NEET 2026 examination held earlier this month.
The agency also confirmed that a re-examination would be conducted, and the new exam date will be announced soon.
In its statement, the NTA clarified that all details already submitted by candidates for the May 2026 examination — including registration information, eligibility status, and selected examination centers — will remain valid for the re-examination.
Students will not be required to complete fresh registration procedures.
The agency further stated that no additional examination fee will be collected from candidates for the re-test.
Additionally, the fees already paid by students for the cancelled examination will be refunded. The NTA confirmed that the expenses for conducting the re-examination would be covered using the agency’s own funds.
The announcement is expected to provide relief to lakhs of medical aspirants across the country who were affected by the cancellation of the examination following the paper leak controversy.
