Free Annual Health Checkups Announced for 42,114 Tamil Nadu Government Bus Drivers
Tamil Nadu announces annual free comprehensive health checkups for 42,114 government bus drivers, including eye tests, blood pressure, diabetes and general medical screening.
The Tamil Nadu government has announced that 42,114 bus drivers working in state-run transport corporations will receive a free comprehensive health checkup every year. Transport Minister A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban made the announcement in the state Assembly.
The annual medical screening will include eye examinations, blood pressure checks, heart rate monitoring, diabetes screening and general medical examinations. Special medical camps are planned to be conducted at bus depots to help identify health problems at an early stage and provide appropriate treatment.
The initiative is aimed at protecting the health and well-being of government bus drivers while also improving passenger safety and helping reduce the risk of road accidents caused by health-related issues.
According to the current official information, the announcement specifically covers 42,114 bus drivers. There is no confirmed information in this announcement stating that conductors will also receive the same free comprehensive annual health checkup.
