Delhi Capitals Chase 226 to Beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 Wickets in IPL 2026

In the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, Delhi Capitals bounced back in style with a dominant 7-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at their home ground on Friday, ending a three-match losing streak.

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals posted a massive total of 225/6 in 20 overs. After early setbacks with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi dismissed cheaply, captain Riyan Parag led the recovery with a brilliant 90 off 50 balls. He was well supported by Dhruv Jurel (42), while Donovan Ferreira added a quickfire 47* towards the end.

For Delhi, returning pacer Mitchell Starc impressed with 3 wickets, while Axar Patel and others chipped in with crucial breakthroughs.

Chasing a daunting target of 226, Delhi Capitals got off to a flying start thanks to an explosive opening partnership between Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul, who added 110 runs for the first wicket. Nissanka scored 62 off 33 balls, while Rahul anchored the innings with a superb 75 off 40 balls.

Nitish Rana contributed a quick 33, keeping the momentum intact. In the final phase, Tristan Stubbs (18*) and Ashutosh Sharma (25*) calmly finished the chase, guiding Delhi to 226/3 in 19.1 overs.

Despite efforts from Rajasthan bowlers like Jofra Archer and Ravindra Jadeja, Delhi’s strong batting lineup proved too powerful.

This impressive chase marks a crucial turnaround for Delhi Capitals, while Rajasthan Royals will look to bounce back after failing to defend a big total.
