Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a closely contested IPL match held at Narendra Modi Stadium on April 17. Chasing a target of 181 runs, Gujarat Titans successfully reached the total in 19.4 overs, losing 5 wickets and sealing the win in the final over.
Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders batted first and were bowled out for 180 runs in their 20 overs. Gujarat’s bowling unit delivered a disciplined performance, with Mohammed Siraj playing a key role by conceding just 23 runs in his 4 overs and picking up 2 crucial wickets, helping to control the scoring rate.
In reply, Gujarat Titans started aggressively during the powerplay, scoring 71 runs for the loss of just one wicket. Their strong start laid the foundation for the chase, which they completed under pressure in the final over.
With this defeat, Kolkata Knight Riders continue to remain at the bottom of the points table, struggling to find momentum in the ongoing IPL season.
