Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Lucknow Super Giants in a thrilling Super Over after the match ended in a tie in the 38th game of IPL 2026.
Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders posted 155 for 7 in 20 overs. Rinku Singh played a sensational innings, scoring 83 runs off 51 balls with 7 boundaries and 5 sixes, anchoring the innings till the end. He also smashed four sixes in the final over. Ajinkya Rahane scored 10, while Tim Seifert was dismissed for a duck.
For Lucknow, Mohsin Khan delivered an outstanding bowling performance, picking up 5 wickets.
Chasing 156, Lucknow Super Giants managed to score 155 for 8 in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant top-scored with 42 runs, while Aiden Markram made 31. In a dramatic finish, Mohammed Shami hit a six off the final ball to level the scores and force a Super Over.
In the Super Over, Kolkata’s Sunil Narine bowled brilliantly, taking two wickets and restricting Lucknow to just 1 run. Nicholas Pooran and Markram were dismissed cheaply.
Chasing a minimal target, Kolkata sealed the win when Rinku Singh struck a boundary off Prince Yadav, securing a 2-wicket victory in the Super Over.
