Gujarat Titans secured a dominant 8-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2026 clash held at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans opted to bowl first, restricting Chennai Super Kings to 158 for 7 in 20 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad led the innings with a composed 74 off 60 balls, including 6 boundaries and 4 sixes. Shivam Dube contributed 22 runs, while Jamie Overton added a quick 18 towards the end. Chennai had a shaky start, losing early wickets and struggling at 37 for 4.
For Gujarat Titans, Kagiso Rabada was the standout bowler with three wickets, while Arshad Khan picked up two. Mohammed Siraj and Manav Suthar took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 159, Gujarat Titans comfortably reached the target in 16.4 overs. Sai Sudharsan played a match-winning knock of 87 off 46 balls, smashing 4 boundaries and 7 sixes. He was well supported by Jos Buttler, who remained unbeaten on 39, and captain Shubman Gill, who scored 33.
For Chennai, Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein picked up one wicket each, but the total proved insufficient to defend.
With this win, Gujarat Titans registered their fourth victory in eight matches and moved to fifth place on the points table with 8 points, while Chennai Super Kings remain in sixth place with three wins from eight matches.
