Saibaba Colony Flyover in Coimbatore Likely to Open for Public Use by June End: Minister Sampath Kumar

The long-awaited Saibaba Colony Flyover in Coimbatore is expected to be opened for public use by the end of June 2026, according to Tamil Nadu Minister V. Sampath Kumar.

During an inspection of the ongoing construction work, the minister reviewed the progress of the project and expressed satisfaction with the pace of execution. The flyover, being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹71 crore, has already achieved 88 percent completion, with the remaining works progressing rapidly.

The Saibaba Colony Flyover is one of the key infrastructure projects aimed at easing traffic congestion in one of Coimbatore's busiest urban corridors. Once operational, the flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, and enhance connectivity for commuters travelling through the Saibaba Colony region and adjoining areas.

Speaking after the inspection, Minister Sampath Kumar stated that the project is in its final stages and that all efforts are being made to complete the remaining works within the scheduled timeframe. He added that the flyover is likely to be formally opened to the public before the end of June.

The project has been closely watched by residents and daily commuters, as the junction has experienced increasing traffic volumes due to the city's rapid growth and expanding vehicle population.

With Coimbatore continuing to emerge as one of Tamil Nadu's fastest-growing urban centres, infrastructure projects such as the Saibaba Colony Flyover are expected to play a crucial role in supporting mobility and reducing congestion across the city.

The anticipated opening of the flyover is expected to provide much-needed relief to thousands of motorists and strengthen Coimbatore's urban transportation network.
