Special arrangements have been made to allow the public and school and college students to visit the Tamil Nadu Police Museum in Coimbatore free of charge on September 6 as part of Police Day.

The arrangement has been made following the instructions of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Dr. N. Kannan, IPS. The event is also aimed at strengthening the relationship between the police department and the public.

The police museum houses several historically significant exhibits, including ancient weapons, police uniforms, rank insignia, medals, police equipment, investigation devices, and photographic and audio-visual equipment.

The museum also displays weapons seized from criminal groups, including Veerappan and Malayur Mambattiyan. Equipment used by the Indian Army and Navy, including a T-55 tank, recoilless rifle, torpedo and Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM), are also among the exhibits.

The Coimbatore City Police have invited the public and students to make use of the free entry opportunity on September 6 and learn about the history and work of the Tamil Nadu Police.
