ROTARY CLUB AND VEERASAMY SCHOOL CONDUCT QUIZ TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING

The Interact Club of Veerasamy Mudaliar High School, with the support of the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Changemakers and the Rotary E-Club of Coimbatore Changemakers, successfully organized an Intra Club Quiz Contest on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM at the school's Activity Room. The event was conducted to promote international understanding and enhance students' knowledge of countries, sports, and global cultures.

The quiz was hosted by Rtr. Vishnu, Rtr. Naveen, and Rtr. Praveen, who served as quiz masters. A total of 32 Interact Club members participated, with each student answering three questions covering countries, sports, flags, capitals, and currencies. Through questions linked to famous personalities and sporting events, students learned interesting facts about Switzerland through Roger Federer, Afghanistan through Rashid Khan, Morocco and Mexico through the FIFA World Cup, Cape Verde, Norway through Magnus Carlsen, and Denmark through Victor Axelsen. The interactive format encouraged students to connect sports with geography and world knowledge in an engaging manner.

Following the quiz, the facilitators highlighted the importance of international understanding, cultural appreciation, and global peace. Mr. Jayakumar, Headmaster of Veerasamy Mudaliar High School, presided over the event and emphasized the need for peace through international understanding, encouraging students to become ambassadors of harmony rather than conflict.

Rtn. Prasath, Rotary Advisor, spoke about Rotary's commitment to promoting international understanding and urged students to work together for a united and peaceful world. Prizes were presented to the quiz winners during the ceremony. The event began with a welcome address by Intr. Ajay Krishnan, President of the Interact Club, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Intr. Vishnu Charan, Secretary, making the program both educational and inspiring for all participants.
