Residents across several parts of Coimbatore district are advised to plan ahead as scheduled electricity maintenance works and Metro Water supply maintenance will be carried out on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, resulting in temporary disruptions to essential services.

According to TANGEDCO, power supply will be suspended in areas served by the Devarayapuram, Marudur, Madampatty, Bhavani Barrage, and Periyanaickenpalayam substations to facilitate planned maintenance of 110 kV and 22 kV breakers, switches, and other electrical infrastructure. Depending on the location, the scheduled power shutdown will be in effect either from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM or from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

At the same time, Coimbatore Metro Water will undertake maintenance work on the 24-hour drinking water supply network between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Water supply will be temporarily affected in Kavundampalayam, Housing Board, AR Nagar, Thamami Nagar, Driver Colony, Samundeswari Nagar, Suguna Nagar, Union Road, Ashok Nagar, Murugan Nagar, Bharathi Nagar, and nearby localities.

Authorities have advised residents, businesses, and commercial establishments in the affected areas to store adequate water and make alternative arrangements for electricity wherever necessary. The maintenance works are part of ongoing efforts to improve the reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of Coimbatore's power distribution and water supply infrastructure.
