HEALTH CARE AFTER 50 AT FOREFRONT OF SCI MONTHLY MEET
SCI Coimbatore Legion hosted its July 2026 monthly meeting featuring Dr. A.K. Senthil Kumar, who shared practical health and wellness strategies for people aged over 50.
Senior Chamber International (SCI) Coimbatore Legion organised its monthly meeting for the month of July 2026 from 07.30 PM to 08.30 PM on Monday 27 July 2026 at Karnataka Association Hall, Sivananda Colony, Coimbatore
Dr.A.K.Senthil Kumar was the guest speaker of the meeting. He greeted the members and mentioned that after 50 meet ups should lead to beam ups and that analysis shouldnt lead to paralysis. With some graphs and charts, he eloquently explained the relationship between people and their health before 50 years and after 50 years. He then highlighted the three formulas for people aged above 50 years for ensuring their best health. He articulated that people aged 50 should do well to remember to EAT SMART, HYDRATE FAST and MOVING ART. In EAT SMART, he advised people to ensure high proteins, less carbo hydrates and balanced fibres in diet. He asked the members to ensure that they eat with optimum gaps and reiterated the importance of the term "EAT YOUR WATER - CHEW YOUR FOOD". He elucidated the importance of hydration and sought the members to make it a habit to drink water and keep count. He also suggested fruits and detoxicants for ensuring hydration requirements. He asked the members to ensure mobility through routine of walking, running and yoga. He suggested that the organization should have a dedicated app to track the walking/running/yoga/games activity of all members and it could help them engage better. He finished the talk with tips on personal management after 50 and on geriatric care. The talk was well received by the members of SCI Coimbatore Legion.
Snr. Ashok Bhat, President of SCI Coimbatore Legion chaired the meeting and welcomed the gathering. Snr Paresh Desai, Secretary of SCI Coimbatore Legion proposed Vote of Thanks and shared the official announcements. The meeting was attended by 14 out of 20 members of SCI Coimbatore Legion.
