Government Arts College, Udumalpet to Hold First-Year Orientation Programme on July 1

Government Arts College, Udumalpet, affiliated with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, is set to organize a special Orientation Programme for newly admitted first-year students on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. The initiative is designed to warmly welcome freshers and help them begin their academic journey with confidence, purpose, and a clear understanding of campus life.

The programme will be presided over by Dr. A. Malarvannan, Principal (FAC) of the college. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. N. Rajakumar, former Principal of N.G.M. College, Pollachi, and VLB Janaki Ammal College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.

Speaking on the theme "Meaningful Student Life," Dr. Rajakumar is expected to motivate students by sharing valuable insights on academic excellence, discipline, personality development, leadership, career planning, and making the most of their college years.

The event will commence with the rendition of Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu, followed by the welcome address by Prof. M. Sivakumar, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry. This will be followed by the presidential address by the Principal and the keynote session.

The programme will conclude with a vote of thanks by Prof. V. Malarvizhi, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science, followed by the National Anthem.

The college administration has invited all newly admitted first-year students to attend the orientation programme and actively participate in the interactive sessions. The event aims to familiarize students with the institution's academic environment, encourage holistic development, and inspire them to build a meaningful and successful college experience from the very beginning.
