Gujarat Titans (GT) produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 82 runs in the 56th match of IPL 2026 on Tuesday.

With the emphatic victory, Gujarat Titans climbed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted 168 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs before bundling out Sunrisers Hyderabad for just 86 runs in 14.5 overs.

Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar starred with the bat for Gujarat, while Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder delivered match-winning bowling performances.

After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to field first.

Gujarat Titans suffered early setbacks as captain Shubman Gill scored only 5 runs, while Jos Buttler managed 7 runs before being dismissed.

Sai Sudharsan then anchored the innings and built an important partnership with Nishant Sindhu. The pair added 38 runs for the third wicket before Nishant was dismissed for 22 runs, which included 3 boundaries and a six.

Washington Sundar joined Sudharsan at the crease and the duo steadied Gujarat’s innings with a valuable 60-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Sai Sudharsan continued his excellent form and completed a brilliant half-century before getting dismissed for 61 runs, including 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Jason Holder later joined Washington Sundar, and together they added another crucial 40 runs for the fifth wicket.

Washington Sundar played an aggressive innings of 50 runs, smashing 7 boundaries and a six before getting dismissed. At the end of the innings, Jason Holder remained unbeaten on 11, while Rahul Tewatia stayed not out on 4.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Prafull Hinge and Saqib Hussain picked up two wickets each, while captain Pat Cummins claimed one wicket.

Chasing a target of 169, Sunrisers Hyderabad collapsed under pressure and failed to build any meaningful partnerships.

Captain Pat Cummins was the top scorer for SRH with 19 runs, including a boundary and two sixes.

Salil Arora scored 16 runs, Heinrich Klaasen added 14, and Ishan Kishan managed 11 runs.

Travis Head was dismissed for a duck, while Abhishek Sharma scored 6 runs. Ravichandran Smaran made 9, Nitish Kumar Reddy added 2, Shivang Kumar scored 4, and Prafull Hinge managed 3 runs before the innings ended.

Gujarat Titans bowlers dominated throughout the chase. Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada picked up three wickets each, while Prasidh Krishna claimed two wickets.

Mohammed Siraj and Rashid Khan also chipped in with one wicket apiece as SRH were bowled out for just 86 runs.

The convincing victory further strengthened Gujarat Titans’ playoff momentum and pushed them to the top of the IPL standings.
