Delhi Capitals secured a thrilling 5-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in an IPL 2026 league match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel elected to bowl first. Rajasthan Royals got off to an aggressive start despite losing Yashasvi Jaiswal early for 12 runs.

Young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a fiery innings, smashing multiple boundaries and sixes before getting dismissed for 46 runs. Dhruv Jurel continued the momentum with an attacking knock, while captain Riyan Parag played a sensational innings and reached his half-century in just 23 balls.

Mitchell Starc turned the game around for Delhi Capitals with a superb spell during the death overs. In the 15th over, Starc dismissed Riyan Parag (51), Pereira (0), and Ravi Singh (4), putting Rajasthan Royals under pressure.

Dhruv Jurel completed his half-century in 36 balls before getting out for 53 runs. Rajasthan Royals eventually finished with 193/8 in their 20 overs. Jofra Archer and Adam Milne remained unbeaten at the crease. Mitchell Starc was the standout bowler for Delhi Capitals with 4 wickets.

Chasing 194 runs, Delhi Capitals received a strong opening partnership from Abishek Porel and KL Rahul. Porel played an excellent innings and reached his fifty in just 29 balls before getting dismissed for 51 runs after adding 105 runs for the opening wicket.

KL Rahul also impressed with a composed half-century, scoring 56 runs before being dismissed by Dasun Shanaka. Tristan Stubbs managed only 4 runs as Rajasthan Royals tried to make a comeback.

In the later stages, David Miller and Axar Patel kept Delhi Capitals in control with crucial sixes. Ashutosh Sharma then provided the finishing touch with a brilliant cameo.

Delhi Capitals required 7 runs in the final over. Facing Adam Milne, Ashutosh Sharma smashed the first ball for a boundary and followed it up with a massive six on the second delivery to seal a memorable victory.
