CSK Sign South African All-Rounder Dian Forrester as Jamie Overton Replacement

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed South African all-rounder Dian Forrester as a replacement for injured England cricketer Jamie Overton in IPL 2026.

The 19th season of the Indian Premier League is currently witnessing an intense playoff race, with several teams battling for qualification spots after Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants were eliminated from contention.

Despite a shaky start to the season, Chennai Super Kings still remain in contention for a playoff berth. However, injuries to key players have created major setbacks for the franchise.

Several CSK players, including Khaleel Ahmed, Ayush Mhatre, Nathan Ellis, Ramakrishna Ghosh, and MS Dhoni, have already missed matches due to injuries. Jamie Overton has now joined that growing injury list.

The England all-rounder has officially been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 because of injury.

Overton had played 10 matches this season and made valuable contributions with both bat and ball, scoring 136 runs and picking up 14 wickets for Chennai Super Kings.

Following his exit, CSK announced South African all-rounder Dian Forrester as his replacement for the remainder of the tournament.

Dian Forrester made his international debut for South Africa earlier this year during the series against New Zealand in March.

So far, he has featured in five international matches and scored 83 runs.

Chennai Super Kings have signed the young South African player for Rs. 75 lakh as an injury replacement.

The franchise will now hope that Forrester can strengthen the squad during the crucial final phase of the tournament as CSK continue their push for a playoff spot.
