Coimbatore Power Shutdown on July 18: TANGEDCO Announces Scheduled Outage Across Multiple Areas
TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown on July 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM across several areas in Coimbatore district for essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
Residents across several parts of Coimbatore district are advised to plan ahead as TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown on Saturday, July 18, 2026, to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure improvement works. Power supply will be interrupted from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The shutdown will affect areas served by the Sulur 110 kV, Coimbatore 110 kV, Mettupalayam 110/22 kV, Annur 110/22 kV, and Pasur 110/22-11 kV substations. The affected localities include Sulur, T.M. Nagar, Ranganathapuram, M.G. Pudur, B.S. Nagar, Kannampalayam, Kangeyampalayam, Ravathur, Gandhipuram, Siddhapudur, Tatabad, Avarampalayam (part), Mettupalayam Road, Circuit House, Air Force, Sukrawarpet, Marakkadai, Ramnagar, Saibaba Colony, Poomarket, Race Course, Sivananda Colony, Mettupalayam, Sirumugai, Alangombu, Jadayampalayam, Therampalayam, Annur, Paduvampally, Kanjapally, Kakapalayam, Chokkampalayam, Pasur, Poosaripalayam, Edaiyarpalayam, Sellanur, Ayimaputhur, Ottarpalayam, Jeeva Nagar, Mettukadu Puthur, Amma Chettiputhur, Puthupalayam, and Pooluvapalayam.
According to TANGEDCO, the scheduled outage is necessary for servicing 110 kV and 22 kV circuit breakers, maintaining associated electrical equipment, and carrying out planned infrastructure upgrades to improve the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the power distribution network.
Residents, commercial establishments, and industrial consumers in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance and plan their activities accordingly to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled power interruption.
