The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Mohana from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, as a judge of the Supreme Court of India, marking a significant milestone in her distinguished legal career.
Justice Mohana graduated in 1988 from the Government Law College, Coimbatore, where she was part of India's first five-year integrated law degree program. Over the years, she has built an impressive reputation in the legal profession through her expertise and contributions to several high-profile cases.
During her legal career, she worked alongside some of India's most prominent legal luminaries, including Kapil Sibal, K. K. Venugopal, P. Chidambaram, Arun Jaitley, and T. R. Andhyarujina on several important legal matters.
The Collegium’s recommendation reflects recognition of Justice Mohana’s extensive legal experience, professional excellence, and contributions to the Indian judicial system. If appointed, she will join the Supreme Court of India, the country's highest judicial institution, further strengthening representation from Tamil Nadu in the apex court.
