Coimbatore Power Shutdown Alert: Multiple Areas to Face Scheduled Outage on July 22

Residents across several parts of Coimbatore are advised to plan ahead as TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure improvement works.

Power supply will remain suspended from **9:00 AM to 4:00 PM** in areas served by the **Mylampatty 110/11 kV Substation**, **Anna University 110/11 kV Substation**, **Malayadipalayam 110/11 kV Substation**, and **Kuniamuthur 110/22 kV Substation**.

The affected areas include **Karayampalayam, Chinniyampalayam, Mylampatty, R.G. Pudur, Kaikolampalayam, Venkittapuram, Kalveerampalayam, Maruthamalai Road, IOB Colony, Anna University, Bharathiar University, Maruthamalai Temple area, Tata Nagar, Anna Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Tansa Nagar, Navavoor Pirivu, Kalpana Nagar, Kurudampalayam, P.G. Palayam, Kumarapalayam, Malapalayam, Vadavalli, Vathambachery, Mandiripalayam, Kuniamuthur, parts of Sundarapuram, Kovaipudur, Puttuvikki, and parts of B.K. Pudur**.

According to TANGEDCO, the scheduled maintenance includes servicing of **110 kV incoming switches, earth pit bolt and nut tightening, tree-cutting operations, MRT inspections, special maintenance activities, and other planned infrastructure upgrades** aimed at strengthening the power distribution network and ensuring a reliable electricity supply.

Residents, businesses, educational institutions, and commercial establishments located in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, as electricity supply will be restored only after the completion of the maintenance works. Consumers are encouraged to plan their daily activities accordingly to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled outage.
