Residents across several parts of Coimbatore are advised to plan ahead as TANGEDCO has announced a scheduled power shutdown on Thursday, July 23, 2026, to carry out essential maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability of the power distribution network.
Electricity supply will remain suspended from **9:00 AM to 4:00 PM** in areas served by the **Peedampally 110 kV Substation**, **Irumborai 110/11 kV Substation**, and **Okmandapam 110/22 kV Substation**.
The affected areas include **Kalangal, Peedampalli, Pattanam, Pappampatty, Akkanaickenpalayam, Pattanampudur, Pappampatty Pirivu, Kannampalayam, Nadupalayam (One Region), Chinna Kuili, Naickenpalayam, Pallapalayam, Irumborai, Pethikuttai, Sambaravalli, Goundampalayam, Vaiyalipalayam, Ilupanatham, Anadasampalayam, Akkarai Sengapalli, Vadakkalur, Muukanur, Arisipalayam, M.M. Patty, and Chettipalayam**.
According to TANGEDCO, the scheduled shutdown will facilitate the maintenance of **110 kV and 22 kV circuit breakers, associated electrical equipment, and other critical infrastructure upgrades**. These works are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the power distribution network, improve operational safety, and ensure a more reliable electricity supply for consumers.
Residents, businesses, educational institutions, and commercial establishments in the affected localities are advised to make the necessary arrangements in advance, as power supply will be restored only after the maintenance work is completed. Consumers are encouraged to plan their activities accordingly to minimize inconvenience during the scheduled outage.
