Gold Price Drops ₹1,600 per Sovereign in Tamil Nadu; Silver Also Declines
Gold prices in Tamil Nadu fell by ₹1,600 per sovereign to ₹1,12,000 on Thursday, while silver prices also dropped.
Gold prices in Tamil Nadu have dropped sharply on Thursday, bringing relief to jewellery buyers and traders. The price of gold fell by ₹1,600 per sovereign, with one sovereign now being sold at ₹1,12,000. The price per gram has also decreased by ₹200 and is currently at ₹14,000.
Gold prices have been fluctuating over the past few days. On April 6, gold was priced at ₹1,11,920 per sovereign. On April 7, the price dropped by ₹1,040 to ₹1,10,880. However, prices surged on Wednesday, rising by ₹2,720 per sovereign to ₹1,13,600, before falling again on Thursday.
Silver prices have also shown a similar trend. On Thursday, silver dropped by ₹5 per gram to ₹260. The price of one kilogram of silver decreased by ₹5,000 and is now at ₹2.60 lakh.
The continuous ups and downs in gold and silver prices are being closely watched by jewellery shops and customers across Tamil Nadu, especially during the ongoing wedding and festive season.
