The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several districts across Tamil Nadu, with 9 districts expected to receive heavy rain today (May 29) and 14 districts likely to experience similar conditions tomorrow (May 30).

According to the weather department, an upper-air cyclonic circulation is prevailing over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining parts of Tamil Nadu at an altitude of approximately 3.1 km to 5.8 km above sea level. This atmospheric condition is expected to trigger widespread rainfall activity across the state.
