Iran Warns of Retaliation Against US-Linked Energy Infrastructure After Kharg Island Strike
Iran has warned it will destroy US-linked oil and energy infrastructure across the region if attacks on Iranian facilities continue after the reported strike on Kharg Island.
Iran’s security forces have issued a strong warning stating that all energy and fuel infrastructure linked to the United States will be destroyed if attacks on Iranian facilities continue.
The warning comes after reports that the US military launched a strike on Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export terminal. US President Donald Trump stated that the operation targeted and destroyed key military installations on the island.
Kharg Island handles nearly 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports, making it a critical hub for the country’s energy sector. The reported attack has been described as a major setback for Iran’s oil export operations.
In response, Iran’s military command center Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters issued a statement warning that if the US continues attacks on Iranian infrastructure, Iran will target and destroy oil and energy infrastructure connected to the United States across the region.
Earlier, Trump said that the strike was one of the most powerful operations in the Middle East, claiming that several military targets on Kharg Island had been completely destroyed.
Iranian authorities have not yet released official details about the extent of the damage. However, international media reports suggest that facilities including an air base, naval base, airport control tower, and helicopter hangar on the island may have been damaged during the strike.
