TNPSC Announces 461 Vacancies for Combined Technical Services Examination 2026

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has officially released the notification for the Combined Technical Services Examination 2026 to fill 461 vacancies across 45 different technical posts in various Tamil Nadu government departments.
The recruitment drive includes vacancies in departments such as the Public Works Department, Highways Department, Rural Development Department, Agriculture Department, Water Resources Department, Pollution Control Board, Tourism Department, Archaeology Department, and several others.
Some of the major posts announced include Assistant Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Agricultural Engineering), Agricultural Officer, Horticultural Officer, Drug Inspector, Environmental Scientist, Research Assistant, Computer Manager, Assistant Statistical Investigator, Librarian, Translator, Archaeology Officer, Assistant Tourism Officer, and many more.
Among the largest vacancies announced are:
- Assistant Engineer (Civil) – 140 posts
- Assistant Engineer (Agricultural Engineering) – 64 posts
- Regional Health Statistician – 62 posts
- Junior Photographer – 23 posts
- Assistant Geologist – 19 posts
- Horticultural Officer – 17 posts
- Assistant Statistical Investigator – 13 posts
Educational qualifications vary depending on the post. Candidates with degrees such as BE/BTech, MSc, MA, BSc, MBA, Library Science, Archaeology, Agriculture, Statistics, Tourism, Law, and Computer Science are eligible to apply for different positions.
The age limit is generally 32 years as of July 1, 2026. Reserved category candidates including SC, SCA, ST, MBC, BC, and BCM can apply up to 42 years of age. Certain posts may have higher age relaxations as mentioned in the official notification.
Selection will be based on a written examination and certificate verification, as these are non-interview posts.

- One-time registration fee: Rs.150
- Examination fee: Rs.100
Candidates belonging to reserved categories and eligible exemptions are not required to pay the examination fee.

Applicants are advised to keep their latest passport-size photograph, signature, educational certificates, and supporting documents ready before submitting the online application form.
The online application process begins on May 27, 2026, and the last date to apply is June 25, 2026. The date and timing of the computer-based examination will be announced later by TNPSC.
