Gold Price Surges ₹2,400 Per Sovereign in a Day After Sharp Two-Day Fall
Gold prices rebounded sharply on June 12, 2026, rising ₹2,400 per sovereign after falling ₹5,600 over the previous two days. Silver prices also moved higher, adding to concerns among jewellery buyers.
Gold prices witnessed a sharp rebound on Friday, June 12, 2026, after recording a significant decline over the previous two trading sessions. The sudden increase has come as a surprise to jewellery buyers who were expecting prices to remain lower following the recent correction.
After falling by a total of ₹5,600 per sovereign in two days, gold prices surged by ₹2,400 per sovereign in a single day, pushing the price of a sovereign back to ₹1,10,400.
Market experts attribute the volatility to fluctuations in global commodity markets and changing investor sentiment amid international economic developments.
Gold Rates on June 12, 2026
- 1 Gram Gold: ₹13,800 (Up ₹300)
- 1 Sovereign (8 Grams): ₹1,10,400 (Up ₹2,400)
Recent Gold Price Movement
Gold prices had been declining steadily since the beginning of June:
- June 1: ₹1,16,000 per sovereign
- June 11: ₹1,08,000 per sovereign
- June 12: ₹1,10,400 per sovereign
Despite the latest rebound, gold prices remain below the levels seen at the start of the month.
Analysts note that investor activity in global commodity markets continues to influence precious metal prices. Movements in crude oil, currency markets, inflation expectations, and geopolitical developments are contributing to sharp fluctuations in gold valuations.
Silver Prices Also Rise
Silver prices also moved higher alongside gold.
Today's Silver Rates
- 1 Gram Silver: ₹265 (Up ₹5)
- 1 Kilogram Silver: ₹2.65 lakh
The increase in both gold and silver prices has added to concerns among jewellery buyers, especially those planning purchases during the ongoing wedding and festive season.
With international market conditions remaining uncertain, precious metal prices are expected to remain volatile in the coming days, prompting investors and consumers to closely monitor market trends before making purchase decisions.
